After February 1937, the occupation of Malaga, 4,471 people were murdered here. The exhumation of 2,840 bodies between 2006 and 2009 unearthed one of the largest extermination sites of Franco's repression in Spain. The names of the victims are engraved on the pyramid. To date, no identification has been made, and the park on the site of the mass graves is in a deplorable state, with rubbish everywhere and neighbours allowing their dogs to relieve themselves all over the place.
